In ancient history, the Spartans were famous for the phalanx—a formation where every warrior’s shield protected the man standing next to him. If one person faltered, the whole group was at risk.
On our team, we teach the "Phalanx Mentality." Whether it’s an offensive line protecting their quarterback or a group of teammates working together on a community service project, our boys learn that we are only as strong as the person standing to our left and our right. We play for each other, not for individual glory.
The "Agoge" Spirit: Training for Life
The Spartans were known for their rigorous training and education. We apply that same focus to our "Student-First" model. We tell our players that a true Spartan is just as sharp with a pen as they are fast on the field.

The Spartan Scholar Athlete Program
At the Sandoval County Spartans, we believe the most important plays happen in the classroom. Our Scholar Athlete Program is designed to prove that the discipline required to master a playbook is the same discipline needed to master algebra, science, and literature.
We don't just "check" grades; we celebrate academic excellence as the highest form of Spartan achievement. To be a Spartan is to understand that your education is the ultimate shield—it protects your future and empowers your community.
